Harrison-Leishear is a 258-acre parcel within Carroll County that is currently zoned agricultural and R-40,000 (1 home per acre). The Town of Mount Airy has been in negotiations with Carroll County for several years to annex the property. The town would like the property for its water and 85 acres of open space, which would pave the way for additional development within town limits. Currently, the town would like to annex the property with Office Park Employment (OPE) zoning.
